1962
The Foundation of M/S Haroon Abdul Sattar
M/S Haroon Abdul Sattar (HAS) was established in 1962 by Mr. Haroon Abdul Sattar as an importer of exotic spices and commodities. The company initially specialized in importing cloves, cardamom, betel nuts, cashew nuts, and cassia to cater to the local market in Pakistan. The foundation was built on trust, quality, and reliable supply - principles that continue to guide our operations today.
1980s
Expansion & Market Influence
During the 1980s, HAS became a dominant player in Pakistan's commodity market. The company expanded its import operations, securing major market share in the spice and commodity industry. With an unwavering commitment to quality and reliability, HAS earned recognition as one of Pakistan's most respected trading houses. HAS introduced containerized shipment of cardamom from Guatemala in to Pakistan, and became exclusive distributor of Guatemalan cardamom in Pakistan. It was also during this time that HAS became the sole importer of cardamom from Zanzibar State Trading Corporation into Pakistani market.
2001
Diversification into Commodity Exports
After nearly four decades of successful imports, HAS strategically decided to explore international commodity export opportunities. The company expanded its operations beyond Pakistan's borders, entering the global export market with a strong focus on agricultural commodities and quality assurance.
2005
Becoming a Leading Rice Exporter
HAS formally transitioned into rice exports as a core business focus. Initially concentrating on various rice varieties, the company quickly recognized the growing global demand for broken rice and began developing specialized expertise in this segment.
2008
Establishment of rice processing unit
The company established its own rice milling operations in Pakistan's Sindh region, ensuring direct control over quality and processing standards. This vertical integration allowed better pricing control and consistent quality delivery to international clients.
2015
Multi-origin Sourcing
